Nothing Left

Nothing Left

You ate my empathy.

Skilled ineptitude

Allowed you to choose which lies

Suited you best.

You had your chance.

You could have turned from the lies.

But what was said

Was what you wanted to hear.

You chose to opt in.

Now you are pissed off

That the lies you wanted,

Spoken by the man

That has one of the worst records

At being a human

Lied to you.

All you needed to do

Was not ignore the evidence,

Apparently

That was too easy,

The candy was too sweet.

Now you must suffer

The toothache you chose.

The toothache you chose for everyone,

Being selfish,

And intentionally ignorant.

You ate my empathy.
