Who Says?

Who doesn’t understand the questions of rights?

And why someone else’s are there in your sights?

Why is healthcare so politically charged?

How is it your opinions got so enlarged,

That you can so indiscriminately,

Tell everyone else who they have to be?

Who gave you the right to make your religion,

The basis of everyone’s lives and decisions?

Why is it that your subjective belief,

Requires that others be subject to much grief?

Don’t you get that you too are quite liable,

To be judged by the words that are found in your Bible?

You rage and you rant that you want to be free,

So long as it doesn’t inconvenience thee.

You’re really not so concerned about saving life,

This is just one more way of your wielding the knife.

So spare us your anger, your indignancy,

Remember that you too know unwanted pregnancy.

I refer you back to the words of God’s Son:

“Love your neighbor.” And that means everyone.
