Entropy

Entropy

Where are you going with your anger all flowing

Spewing words that are paid for in hate?

What are you doing, sanity all eschewing,

With your bloodlust you can never satiate?

“I am going to ready all the minds so unsteady

It’s past time to set this shit straight.”

What are you saying, are you really praying

For chaos and blood in the streets?

What is the point then, who will you anoint then,

When there’s no one left to browbeat?

“I’ll find someone new, some that look just like you,

That will march to erratic drumbeat.”

But what will you gain; this all sounds so insane,

What will be left when you’ve done?

How can you yearn for the whole world to be burned

Don’t you see that nothing is won?

“I will take all I can, even though it be sand

And I die grasping it under the sun.”

Can you be so spoil-blind to grab each husk and rind

Though they once belonged to another?

Is there aught to be done to turn you from the gun

Would you slay then even your brother?

“Life is for living, for taking, not giving,

Now begone or it’s you that I smother.”

So they stood long in this sorrowful song

A tale that has lasted too long past.

The takers, the breakers, and all of them fakers

And the makers they have always harassed.

The killers, the drillers, always tearing down pillars.

Until they have destroyed all at last.
