A Fat Acrobat

A Fat Acrobat

It doesn’t matter what you tell them,

They only hear what they hear.

They come and buy what you sell them:

It’s all just a better brand of fear.

You threaten the neighbors,

You want to take us out of the game,

And feed the wolves rattling sabers

As long as you get yours, it’s all the same.

You grab all the everything as far as you can see,

Dodging questions about your solvency.

While re-announcing your ascendancy,

And you shit in our rivers and piss in the sea.

You’ve spit in the faces of so many friends,

While stoking our weapons and stroking your gun.

Paving the way for another’s ends,

Tell the little fat man you have a bigger one.

Insisting somehow that we trade on your name,

You have made of us a global shame.

Setting the fires, stoking the flames,

As long as you get yours, it’s all the same.

You grab all the everything as far as you can see,

Dodging questions about your solvency.

And re-announcing your ascendancy,

While you shit in our rivers and piss in the sea.
